Maya Babeanu (pronounced "bah - bey - ah - new")

 is an inky pawed illustrator from the unceded

traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm,

Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ nations known as "Vancouver, BC". She has a passion for storytelling

and drawing, which has led her to work in

publishing, graphic novels and indie video games.

Maya believes a good story can change the way we perceive reality, and because of this, she has

dedicated herself to making stories and characters that have a lasting impact on the world around her.
 

Maya uses a mix of watercolour, ink and photoshop to bring her visions to life. Taking inspiration from her unique life experiences, nature, and her favourite pieces

of media, she aims to create a unique visual language full of whimsy and introspection. 

Whenever she’s not immersed in her artwork, Maya fills her time with rollerskating, reading, dancing, sipping bubble tea, discovering new interests, and exploring

the world around her.
